You can only lose 2.5 pounds of actual fat per week, or that is what I read long ago in a doctor study. Seems unfair when you can gain that much or more in one day!
Everything I have tried to do has seemed to affirm that observation. However, there is no question in my mind that eating carbs, especially any kind of sugar will stop me losing weight, no matter how low my actual calorie count. I have gained weight with a 500 calorie a day diet! At the time I was quite young and all the information about macronutrients was in its infancy. All we heard was calories in calories out.
My best progress has been high protein, medium fat, low carb and at least thirty minutes of mild exercise per day. Speaking of which, I better go do that!
I’ve got some loose skin from weight loss, not sure how much that weighs. Also have been lifting for 3 months and taking creatine for about 2 months. I also sometimes basically binge eat carbs on the weekend. My weight fluctuates like 10 lbs in a week. Don’t really know my actual weight. Monday I weighed 260, now Friday I am 248. But I used to be 400 so fuck it I guess.
Im guessing without the skin and the creatine, and without any salt or carbs I’d be around 235, but I don’t really know.
Unfortunately I am indian living with my family
This is sooo wrong.
Lots of 700lb fattys earing 3,000-4,000 calories a day doing strictly carnivore and loosing 30lbs a month
No carbs = no muscle growth
Low carb = no ovulation = no period
I didn’t cut carbs, nor did I count calories and I still was able to maintain a 50 pound weight loss. I merely focused on balancing my blood sugar.
Wow
If you don’t focus on diet besides not eating any saturated fats you’d prolly be fine
He's only half right. If you are insulin sensitive then cutting carbs doesn't matter. If you are insulin resistant it matters alot.
I think one of the best aspects of cutting carbs is that when you do the hunger craving to eat goes away after your body goes into ketosis. Allow you to eat less.
If I eat carbs I'm hungry most all the time shortly after I eat. Eating a apple pie is so good I can't stop eating.
Carnivore 7 years. It just works for me. Carbs bloat the hell out of me 🤷🏽♂️
Once you cross 40, reducing carbs helps a lot.
It helps maintain/reduce weight and other metabolic issues get resolved or you can see visible improvement.
The best way to lose weight is to do illegal drugs
thank you. i was about to rage in the comments saying its water weight.. but then you started being serious
Are you sure? What if by eating low carbs you’re eating more protein with the same amount of calories? Doesn’t that lower your body fat percentage quicker
Cant work out on low carb, no enegry
Read the Case for keto by Gary Taubes…He does a great job walking through the role of insulin and also comparing people who have calorie restricted with no long-term effects vs. carb restricted to great effect. Calories in vs calories out sounds nice… but insulin matters whether it's convenient or not.
Guy looks more miserable as he gets older …. Not rocket science to lose weight. Eat in a calorie deficit, eat a balanced diet, and be consistent with your workouts…
Fat doesnt make you fat. Carbs and sugar do.
You are literally one of those social media muppets 😂
basically, losing fat = calorie deficit. I strongly suggest walking as well
Bro talks in such a condescending and sarcastic way – guy thinks he's a Chad, but comes across as super insecure
I went from 310lbs to 170 lbs in about 10 months, just from a caloric deficit and cardio. Still ate plenty of carbs, would workout once or twice a week but mostly it was cutting out the drinks. Like most of America, I drank most of my calories so my eating didn't change much… Just started drinking water and SLIGHTLY reduced what I actually ate. My BEST week I lost 8lbs and my worst week i would lose 1. Now I'm trying to fill in the gaps and bulking up muscle takes A LOT more work than simply losing the fat.
Not true. Cutting out processed and fast burning carbs is absolutely the first step to fat loss. Yes, cutting them altogether isn't the solution. Improving quality to better carbs (yes there are better choices) like brown rice will impact your fat loss and sustain your energy needed for exercise or daily life
Hahaha take that…… EGG Eddie 😂
I can’t get into breadless sandwiches but I no longer crave rice or tons of pasta, low carb ftw
Completely idiotic
You need to go back to school if you don’t understand how Insulin works buddy. Low/no carb will definitely lose fat faster than equated calories on a normal carb diet.
a) You shouldn't want to loose weight as fast as possible.
b) Getting rid of carbs is a surefire way to getting rid of your sanity.
I'm sorry you are wrong sir! I am very insulin resistant and if I even eat a crumb of bread I gain weight even if I'm in a calorie deficit. The only way I've ever been able to lose weight in my entire life is going on the carnivore diet. Not to mention it helped me in other ways with my health. Not every diet fits everyone but a carnivore diet definitely helped me!
So good thank you! Just looked at my almond milk ingredients 😭 yea im making almond milk from scratch from now on!
It's a lot easier to stay in calorie deficit if on low carbs however… This you would agree to, no?
