The Marais is one of Paris’ most famous neighborhoods, and for good reason – but that also means it can get crowded, and a lot of its neighborhood charm has been pushed out by big retail. Grab our guide at for all of our Paris recommendations, including a ton in the Marais.

Guys, please stop selling the Marais and its image as if it were your bloody property. There are still people living here, just trying to get on with their lives, and we're absolutely fed up with the Anglo tourists pouring in.
Nice video!!!
Great video. God I want to come back to Paris so bad. I loved it there.
Jay, according to my sources, construction of the Plaza Mayor in Madrid was begun in 1617, 5 years after the Spanish court came to Paris for the inauguration of the Place Royale.
Salut, merci beaucoup! 👏🏾👍🏾🗼✌🏾
Fun fact, Square du Temple is where the Knights Templar's temple was, where Louis XVI was imprisioned before being executed. Well, maybe not so fun for Louis Capet.
Nice video, but this is an itinerary that I will not follow. A full day in Paris and I would hate to spend most of my time eating, drinking, and eating again. I would be walking around soaking in the architecture and street scene, and roaming the banks of the Seine.
The trick to getting into Shakespeare and Co, IMO, is go early in the day…….I went there twice in June and both times, I was able to go right in because we were there right after it opened.
Butterknife for steak. LOL
the millefeuilles at La Parisienne are sooooo amazing.
Many places that I haven’t seen mentioned before. Great selection and video.
❤❤ we loved the 11th!! ❤❤
Thx for your tips from a non-french Parisian resident. I enjoy your storytelling how life in Paris can unfold. My daily experience is very different with small kids and private treats are less, but nevertheless you bring good inspiration stuff for my eyes.
You are not JAY anymore? Ok but say: MARAIS, MA, NOT MAI . A,not ai comme ta “MA”. .cool video nice info for the peeps.
You are really good at this. You are a great communicator and wonderful recommendations and you are very entertaining.
Your videos are so well done! This has to be the best one yet, when theres so many on this subject – even managed to add a little history. I stayed across from Le Mary Celeste before and agree that the food in the 3rd is better than the 4th. The Carnavalet Museum is a must especially for their outdoor cafe.
The Dearth of Birds sounds like a great book title Jay
I am so glad this came into my YT feed. I am so happy I clicked on it (I was not going to)! You are Phenomenal! Capital "P"! This was an amazing guide to these gorgeous spots in Paris. If I ever return to Paris, could I hire you to be my guide for just a day? I would pay for all tickets, fees, meals, transport, etc. I really mean it. Your vlog made me feel like I was there in Paris, alongside you and your friends. You have a new subscriber! No wonder France gave you citizenship. Thank you for this. I plan to share this with a friend who is going in the fall. He plans a few days in Normandy to see the D-Day coastline and American Cemetery. You are amazing!
It's not MEUrais it's MArais like in Apple
this is the ultra leftist woke elitistist public subventioned morons place in Paris today, the place is cute but ppl there are awfull , thx for sharing
Bonjour Jay. Bravo, one of your best Paris videos yet. Thanks for sharing.
💙🤍❤️
So many good recs! I'll be staying in the north Marais next week for 3 days and this was golden. Thank you for such a comprehensive video. Obrigada!
You mentioned Les halles an area you would not hang out personally. Is it a safety concern? I'm a bit worried the popularity of le Marais equals mostly English speakers milling about. Geez my first trip to paris in the 80s i stayed at a little place on Ave Emile Zola. I found it in the old old Lets Go travel book. Lol.
Absolutely fantastic! Jay I think you’ve hit your stride with these videos! 🎉
Excellent. You are remarkable!
Wow what an action packed day that was! Whew
“Kinda like swapping CEOs around, I guess?” 😂
